With five years of experience as a skin specialist, Melitta brings an extensive understanding of consumer and market dynamics to her role as the founder of MELITTA SKIN. With her wealth of experience in the beauty industry, she also holds a crucial certification from the TGA Regulatory Affairs. Her vision is not only to create products, but to also foster a community that understands and prioritises comprehensive sun protection.
Jenny oversees the visual components and customer experience of MELITTA SKIN. Additionally, Jenny is a makeup artist and hair stylist where her success is deeply rooted in her broad understanding of product knowledge and various skin types and tones.
Isabel plays a pivotal role in steering the operational development of MELITTA SKIN. She excels in cultivating meaningful relationships within the industry and continues to facilitate communication among our diverse connections in the ecosystem as well as with our customers.
As co-founder of Solid, Adam brings his extensive experience and values-driven mindset to mentor MELITTA SKIN. With a focus on promoting sustainable practices, Adam provides unique insights drawn from his experiences in the New Zealand ecosystem.
Ken, co-founder & CMO at Kara Technologies, challenges MELITTA SKIN to craft strategies that set us apart. His expertise in business planning, leadership, and entrepreneurship guides us in bringing GLOWGUARD to market.

Early Beginnings
Melitta and Jenny met on the shop floor at MECCA in 2021 where they instantly bonded over their mutual love for the industry. From the daily interactions with consumers and firsthand experience in the beauty and skincare space, they recognised the need for an elevated SPF solution.
Skincare is second nature to us at MELITTA SKIN. Like you, we’re always on the hunt for the next best thing to rave about. However, when it came to SPF, we realised that choices were incredibly limited here in New Zealand. That’s when we set out to create a product that not only met the strict regulations of this region but delivered on all fronts: inclusivity, efficacy and performance.
Milestone Achievements
When Isabel joined the MELITTA SKIN team, everything fell into place, and GLOWGUARD quickly transformed from a concept into reality. We committed to developing a novel SPF solution that not only met regulatory standards but also excelled in performance under makeup while providing maximum protection. This dedication ensured that GLOWGUARD would stand out as a truly innovative product in the skincare market.
In our relentless pursuit to validate GLOWGUARD, MELITTA SKIN navigated through countless incubators, securing the necessary funding to bring our vision to life. We collaborated with over four laboratories across New Zealand, Australia, the USA and South Korea, dedicating ourselves to developing the very best sunscreen on the market.
Expanding Reach
Over the last two years, we’ve formed a team of dedicated specialists to create GLOWGUARD– a daily four-hour broad spectrum hybrid SPF50. As beauty lovers, we knew it was essential to align ourselves with the best and most trusted in the industry. That's why we built strong relationships with the top makeup-artists and skin clinics in New Zealand for expert guidance. These insights were invaluable in creating an SPF that seamlessly integrates with skincare and makeup, providing flawless protection without compromising on the finish or feel.
Today
After three years of product and brand development, we’re proud to present the first creation of MELITTA SKIN– GLOWGUARD. We hope you love it as much as we believe in it.
